Dr. Nicholas Sams Chiropractor
My educational or professional, based on background, includes a Bachelor of Science degree with a chemistry, biology, physics emphasis, with a minor in psychology. My next step was a four-year doctored program in chiropractic, emphasis on sports medicine and orthopedic trauma. I completed an internship at and hospital in Great Falls, Montana, at the Benefis Orthopedic Trauma Center, granted full hospital privileges—one of two chiropractors in the state. My years of practice as a chiropractor began in 1999. I had a practice in Montana for approximately 14 and a half years. Prior to that, I worked in the field of strength and conditioning, which played a part in my career trajectory—emphasis on performance, pain to performance-based care, based on the Prague School of Rehabilitation.
One of my sayings is: “If you have a body, you’re an athlete.” And my office is: “If you have a body, you’re an athlete.” My continuing education includes many workshops and seminars aligned with the Prague School of Rehabilitation( Prof. Vladimir Janda MD, DrSc and Prof. Karel Lewit, with mentors such as Craig Leibenson, Pavel Tsatsouline, Professor Stewart McGill, and physical therapists Gray Cook and Giancarlo Russo. Over the last 10 years, I have traveled to many countries, where I’ve been very fortunate to be exposed to a much broader paradigm of care, including completing martial arts and yoga training in several countries, including Thailand —being a student under the legendary Samart Payakaroon.
I’ve attended workshops in an (invitation only) world-class elite performance center, working with U.S. Special Forces, Navy SEALs, professional and Olympic athletes—EXOS in Phoenix, Arizona. For 5 years, I was a member of the Ironman Performance Team in locations such as Penticton BC, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and Kailua Kona, Hawaii.
